Choyce Peterson's Bob Hopper Elected President of Southern Connecticut Youth Hockey, Inc. STAMFORD, CT. June 25, 2007 –Robert J. Hopper, Vice President of Choyce Peterson, Inc., a tenants’ commercial real estate brokerage with offices in Stamford and White Plains, has been elected President of Milford-based Southern Connecticut Youth Hockey, Inc. (SCYH) for the coming year. Mr. Hopper, a Trumbull resident, has coached youth hockey for more than 15 years. He has served on the Board of Directors of SCYH for the past two years as referee scheduler for the program. His current term as President will run through June 2008.SCYH, a non-profit organization with an annual operating budget in excess of $.7 million, touches between 450-500 players each year through its travel teams, learn-to-skate clinics and house leagues. SCYH will field 15 travel ice hockey teams with 275 travel players in the coming season, which runs from mid-August through mid-March. Younger players participate in coed programs beginning as early as age 4, while older players compete on boys and girls teams fielded through age 19. “Ice hockey has always been my passion; I’ve been around the game most of my life,” Mr. Hopper commented. “A close friend of my father’s was a goal judge for Madison Square Garden, and I saw my first game there when I was 3.” As a senior at Fordham Prep in the Bronx, Mr. Hopper successfully petitioned the Headmaster to start up an ice hockey program, and he went on to play on a club team at Fairfield University. Four of his five children are currently on ice hockey teams, with his oldest son, Brian, playing at St. Michaels College in Vermont. Mr. Hopper joined Choyce Peterson in 2002 after a twenty-plus year career at Dun & Bradstreet Companies, culminating as Director of Global Real Estate. Over the past six years, he has successfully utilized his experience to benefit Fairfield and Westchester County companies, representing office and warehouse tenants both locally and nationally. In 2003/04, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). He has also served as a volunteer coach for Odyssey of the Mind.
